Density Settings for Various Threads
Density Settings for Various Threads
Due to the different thread counts, the stitch density needs to be adjusted while digitizing. Also, it might be that on the embroidery machine different needle sizes have to be used.
The following overview shows which stitch density and which needle sizes are suitable for which embroidery thread. Only the right combination of both stitch density and needle size will lead to a satisfactory embroidery result.
The guide below is meant to be used in general terms for
starting points. Depending on different variables such as fabric, adjustments
will need to be made to achieve the best results.
Guidelines for Underthread Use:
For the standard length stitches the general rule for underthread requirement is around 3 m per 1000 stitches. Upper thread: You can expect approximately 5 m per 1000 stitches.
Correct Thread Tension:
A perfectly tensioned embroidery with standard length stitches should have around one third of the underthread visible on on the stitches underneath!
